Artichoke
I knew this plant on a website, about food. I was curious as I have never seen it in HK. (maybe I seldom visit the market hehe)
In the Farmer's Market in SF, I saw them and I bought few home. I searched the ways to cook and eat it. and Finally......
hehe, I like the taste, which is sweet with a floral smell! it took me some time to finish the outer leaves. and finally, i "reached" the heart of the artichokes. It was the best part of all. I found I have fall in love with this vegetable.
However, my mother and brother did not appreciate it. lol
Finally, I found that artichoke actually gives a high nutritional value, because of its exhibiting aid to digestion, strengthening of the liver function, gall bladder function, and raising of HDL/LDL ratio. This reduces cholesterol levels, which diminishes the risk for arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. :DDD
